Fall is a great time to do some much needed cleaning and transitioning! As we move toward being indoors more often when the weather changes, it’s nice to have a clean, inviting home space where you’ll likely be spending the majority of your time. Great areas to pay attention to are stovetop ranges, the oven, cleaning under and behind large appliances in the kitchen, polishing and dusting furniture, organizing closets and purging any unwanted or unused items to donate to local organizations in need, wiping the dust off houseplant leaves, and snipping off any dead materials.
Our natural cleaning section in our store has a bunch of great items like biodegradable washcloths, scrub brushes made sustainably, natural soaps and cleaners, laundry soap, dryer balls, and drying racks!
It’s not too early to start planning your holiday gatherings! Provide a welcoming experience with tableware, beverageware, and items in the home to help guests feel welcome and cozy. Catch one of our Sharpening events on Sundays while they last to get your kitchen knives sharpened like new! Fall is also a great time to swap seasonal decor like tablecloths, bedspreads, throw pillows and blankets to things that are more cozy and autumnal in nature. Set out candles and give throw rugs a good cleaning. Change out your door mat and place more absorbent rugs in doorways where wet shoes are likely to trod.
Many of us long for seasonally fresh produce in the cold months. If you don’t have any fall producing veggies in the garden, you can instead easily do countertop sprouting to get fresh greens and nutrients for a fraction of what you’ll pay at the supermarket. Check out Sprouting 101 for more info!
