Ditch the Plastics
As we approach Earth Day, we are conscious of the impact of how we consume. One of the big environmental dilemmas we face in modern society is the ubiquitous existence of single use plastics. We find plastic on most packaging, produce bags, straws & to-go cups, and more. Making concerted efforts to utilize reusable items to replace plastic is a way that we can make a daily impact. We carry a lot of sustainable and reusable home and kitchen supplies, including natural cleaning to help you support a zero waste lifestyle. Click here to peruse our kitchen product categories for reusable options. We also have a growing collection of natural shampoo and conditioner bars with minimal packaging to promote healthy hair without another plastic bottle going into the landfill.

Growing your own sprouts
With nothing more than a bag of sprouting seeds, a jar and a straining lid, you can easily grow fresh, healthy, crunchy sprouts in your kitchen. In about a week, you can snack on these vitamin-rich greens. We sell sprouting seeds and accessories to help you get growing. Click to learn more on How to Grow Sprouts!

Fermentation
Learn about the Basics of Fermentation! It’s simple and fairly easy to make your own sauerkraut and kimchi, along with other delicious vegetable ferments and condiments. We have a great assortment of books on the subject to get you started, as well as tools, crocks, and kits, including one of our favorite items for small batch fermenting, the ChouAmi! The jar comes with a special lid system to keep your creations under the brine and able to release gas during the fermentation process. Then you can transfer to a different container, or simply cap the jar and store in the fridge.
