Houseplants
Indoor houseplants are entering a winter dormancy phase. As the duration of light wanes during the colder months, houseplants require less fertilizer. In general, you do not want to place your houseplants anywhere where there is a draft, especially as the outdoor temperatures drop. Poinsettias are starting to become available to bring a vibrant and festive splash of color to the home. Keep them from cold drafts, and keep foliage from touching windows. Use fertilizer to maintain leaf color. Remember to keep poinsettias out of reach of children and pets as they are mildly toxic when ingested.

Giving Back to the Community
Kicking off with Small Business Saturday November 29 and running through December 31, we are happy to host a fundraiser for Cornerstone Community Housing! Cornerstone Community Housing provides safe, stable and affordable housing for low-income families and individuals, serving over 1,300 households in Lane County. They help residents thrive by providing support such as access to food, onsite dental clinics, kids programs, and health coaching, preventing homelessness before it begins. Any amount helps.

S.A.R.A.’s Giving Tree
Gifts aren’t just for people! Be sure to visit our pet area for a fun selection of cat and dog toys, all natural treats, and care items for the special fur baby on your list. We’ve got a giving tree from S.A.R.A.’s Treasures near our pet area through the end of the year if you’d like to donate to a great local non-profit rescue organization.

Food For Lane County Dropoff
Help mitigate food insecurity for your neighbors this holiday season. Bring non-perishable items: canned soups, veggies, fruits, pasta, sauces, peanut butter, cooking oil and more. Can’t donate food? Help us spread the word!
